As part of the on-going effort to enhance the quality of the District’s training program a live fire high rise drill was conducted on Thursday 24 May. Units were instructed to advance hose bundles into the drill tower, make a standpipe connection, and then advance an attack line to the 2nd floor burn room. The evolution was conducted several times to allow everyone a chance to participate.
As expected we found some things that worked well and some that didn’t. As we move along we will use these lessons to help improve our operational readiness.
Not only did we learn some good lessons, any time we get to use the burn building, it is a good day.
