Over the Embankment for the A Platoon

At 0634 hours on Wednesday February the 22nd, S.B.F.P.D. was toned for a motor vehicle accident on North State Highway 5.  The accident was reported as a vehicle over-turned.  Units arrived within 5 minutes of  being dispatched and found one vehicle down an embankment, well off the road. The sole occupant of the vehicle was found sitting outside the truck.  Due to the mechanisms of this incident it was decided to use full spinal immobilization protocols.  Units from the Sunrise Beach FPD assisted Lake West Ambulance with this process.  Because of the difficult terrain, E-12-22 deployed their stokes basket to carry the patient from the scene back up to the roadway.  The patient was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Units form the S.B.F.P.D. remained on the scene to assist the Missouri State Patrol with traffic control

Units Responding:

E12-22 with Captain Embich & FF Karl
     T 12-11 with FF Abbott
     1200 With Chief Reilly

A special nod of appreciation to FFs Wieberg & Groce who responded to Station 1 to ensure that our District remained in-service while the duty crew was committed.

Good work folks!
