Live Fire Training

On Saturday May the 12th a live fire training exercise was held at the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District Training Academy.  Sunrise Beach units were joined by units from the Gravios, Mid-County & Southwest Fire Districts.   Multiple operations were conducted and focused on hose advancement at single family dwelling fires.  Thanks to the hard work of all the members who participated, a lot of good hard training was made available.  Several evolutions were conducted giving everyone a chance to participate in different functions.

The feedback from all those who participated was very positive. Chief Reilly stated “I am glad to see us making use of the burn building.  I think this is critical resource to ensure that are members are well prepared for structural firefighting.  I think the burn building will see a lot more use in the future.”

A special thanks to Carla Northcott who came out to make sure that rehab was taken care.

As our District continues to work to improve our capabilities we will be driven by many things, one of them being the old saying:

“The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in combat”
